A big turnout started Ravensthorpe CCs Batley Bash from Tingley to Boothferry Bridge and back via Thorpe, Robin Hood, Woodlesford, Swillington, Garforth then east on the A63 through Monk Fryston, skirting Selby and turning south just before Howden on the B1228 to Boothferry Bridge on the River Ouse. The return leg was via Pontefract. Two Calder Riders, Stuart Bowering and Michael Vennard completed the 73 mile route. Michael (red top) tucked in behind the two leading riders on the first clip.

The Bash is aptly named as it is head down all the way with many riders hanging on for as long as they can to avoid being dropped.
Ravensthorpe’s Craig Newton uploaded 5 video clips to youTube. These were taken from the following car. As the following car pulled past as they got close to the finish, Stuart can still be seen up near the front.
Whereas you'll see me dropping out the back in 'Take 4' at about 4:30!
Michael.
