| Michael Burton leads Carl Lindop on a climb |
Paul Milsom, Michael Burton and Carl Lindop completed the Colne Valley Mountain Bike Challenge on 8th May.
The setting is the dramatic terrain of the Colne Valley near Huddersfield.The 30 mile route involved over 1200 metres of climbing and included demanding off road terrain with some steep climbs incorporating some local roads and lanes.
320 started the event despite strong winds on the day of the challenge and heavy rain the day before.
A steep cobbled climb took the riders away from the start, followed by a steady 3 mile drag up towards scout hill with it’s panaramic viewpoints. The route traverses private uplands only opened for the event and finally climbs Wessenden Head before plunging down to the finish.
