Calder’s Go_Ride kids had a chance to take a look at and hold one of the Olympic Torches used to display the flame through the UK to eventually reach the Olympic Stadium where young athletes received the flame and lit the magnificent Olympic Cauldron

Peter Howard took the torch, which he had carried into Headingley Cricket ground during the Olympic relay, along to a Go_Ride session being held at St Thomas a Becket College, Sandal.
He also showed the young cyclists a display board of cuttings and photographs of his big day.
Peter gave a speech and answered some questions before there was a chance for the kids to get their hands on the torch and pose for some photographs.
