Calder Clarion Go-Ride are hosting a “Go-Ride Games” on 1st September at St Thomas a Beckett School, Sandal Wakefield from 14:00 to 17:00.
It’s a tribute to the Olympic Games and is backed by British Cycling, Sky, Wakefield Cycles and Koffee Kart
It is part of a country wide network of Go Ride Games being held after the Olympic Games.
The fun based events will give go-riders a chance to try out their skills and techniques in competitions around twisting circuits, some with obstacles, tight corners and braking zones.
It’s also an Open Day for any youngsters who want to come along and join in the fun with Calder Clarion’s Go_Riders and those from other Go-Ride centres.
Everybody, young and old, is welcome.
The core of the games hinges around the Go_Ride youngsters competitions, but we are hoping many senior members will attend by bike to give the youngsters a flavour of the variety of cycling activities available and to add to the atmosphere.
During the games there’s a steady ride for grown ups from St Thomas a Beckett school along the adjacent Trans Pennine Cycle Route and Walton Country Park.
Food and Drink will be available from Koffee Kart and there should be other stalls at the venue.
